The Pressman Academy Day School is
committed to meeting the individual needs of its students. We
recognize that children learn at various rates and in different ways
and thus, one particular method of instruction may not be successful
with all students. As part of our mission, we encourage the balanced
development of each child, valuing both intellectual, and social and
emotional growth.
In working with our students, our Department of Student Services offers the following services:
Direct remediation in the areas of math, reading, writing, and Hebrew (when necessary)
Creation of programs/interventions which foster a home-school collaboration
Consultation with parents and teachers regarding individual students or classroom needs
In-class presentations and programs to address specific developmental issues
On-going teacher education regarding a variety of learning, attention, and social issues
The
Day School works diligently to ensure that individual children's needs
are dealt with in the most professional manner possible. Currently,
our team of child specialists includes administrators, a coordinator of
student services, a middle school counselor, an elementary school
counselor, a general studies learning specialist, and a Hebrew resource
teacher.
