We believe Jewish education is the responsibility of our entire community and we are dedicated to providing tuition assistance for as many families as possible to ensure that children who want a Pressman education can receive one. You may apply online for Tuition Assistance HERE starting December 1st. Jewish Professional Discount

Pressman Academy believes tuition affordability is a problem that needs to be confronted head-on. The cost of a Day School education in Los Angeles continues to increase, making it less and less attainable for too many families who want to be at Pressman, and whom we want to be a part of the fabric of our community. We are particularly sensitive to the fact that many families who work on behalf of the Jewish community can often not easily afford to live in the Jewish community, with the increasing cost of living in our city in addition to synagogue memberships, kosher food, school tuitions, and camp fees. 

As we enter the Admissions season for the 2022-2023 school year we are excited to launch the Jewish Communal Professional Discount Program, which we hope will be the first step in a long-term strategy to meaningfully address tuition affordability. This new initiative aims to make a Pressman education affordable for any Los Angeles family in which at least one parent works in and for the Jewish community. 

The Jewish Communal Professional Discount Program reflects the values we instill in our students. Pressman prioritizes Jewish engagement in a myriad ways, from our rigorous Hebrew and Judaic Studies curriculum and deep commitment to Israel, to the tikkun olam opportunities we foster and the connections we forge with Temple Beth Am. It is only fitting then that our fee structure recognizes and welcomes to our thriving community those families who have dedicated their professional lives to upholding and amplifying these same values. 

Qualifying families will be charged 50% of tuition for all children in the Pressman Academy ECC and Day School. Families who need additional tuition assistance can apply for funds on top of the 50% discount. The Jewish Communal Professional Discount Program is intended for the following people:

• Any family in which at least one parent works directly for a qualifying Jewish non-profit (501c(3), etc.) full-time (a minimum of 35 hours/week.)
• Full-time practicing clergy (Rabbinic or Cantorial)
